Albert Frere's GBL to get 3 seats on Lafarge Board
Apr, 08 2008
(BRUSSELS) - Belgian holding company Groupe Bruxelles Lambert (GBL) (GBLB.BR), which has an 18.6 percent stake in Lafarge (LAFP.PA), said on Tuesday it will have three seats on the French cement maker's board.
GBL board member Thierry De Rudder said GBL viewed its Lafarge stake as a long-term investment, adding that it could raise its interest in the future.
France's AMF stock market regulator said in a filing a month ago that GBL did not plan to seek control of Lafarge. GBL's stake gives it 20.9 percent of voting rights in Lafarge.
