Lafarge completes the "Dream"

Sep, 11 2009

(St. Helens, UK) -- Lafarge has completed its precast concrete section for “The Dream” a 20m high landmark located off the M62 highway in St Helens North-West England. It portrays the head of a young girl with her eyes closed, and is aimed to portray the regeneration of the town.

Lafarge worked on the cast over a four month period at its Pinxton plant in Nottingham. The 190m2 of bespoke concrete sections used white cement fibres, Spanish dolomitic limestone, and limestone dust to create the white, almost luminescent concrete.
