Lafarge to invest 300 million euro for a cement factory in Ukraine

(Paris, France) -- The commercial director for Lafarge's Ukrainian representative office Nikolai Puzenko has announced that the company will start construction of its second cement plant in Ukraine next year. The plant will take two years for completion.
Lafarge will invest to 280 million -300 million euro on the cement plant which will have a capacity of up to 1.5 million tonnes. The plant will be constructed 12 to 13 kilometers from Lafarge-owned OJSC Nikolayevtsement in the Lviv Region.
Lafarge has already completed the pre construction formalities and has also leased 100 hectares in territory. The new cement plant will produce cement utilizing less energy-consuming dry process.
The plant will utilize both coal and alternative energy sources as fuel.
