The Polk County Sheriff's Department says 54 year old Douglas Peck died at the scene after being run over by a gravel truck.

The accident happened at the Enbridge job site on Highway-75 in rural Crookston about 8:30 yesterday morning.

Peck was at the site to dump a truck load of gravel when he got out of his truck to find a supervisor.

One person saw Peck fall before being hit but it's unknown if he tripped or suffered some other medical condition.

The other gravel truck driver dumping gravel didn't see Peck go behind him and Peck was run over.

He was pronounced dead at the scene.

The Ramsey County Medical Examiner's Office will do an autopsy.
