(Toronto, canada) -- All of the bodies have now been removed from the scene of a construction site tragedy in northwest Toronto.
Four men were killed and a fifth was critically injured when the scaffold they were on collapsed on Christmas Eve, sending them plunging 13 stories to the ground.
Two of the bodies remained at the site until yesterday -- the broken scaffolding dangling above had to be secured before they could be recovered.
The men were repairing balconies on an apartment building when they fell.
Police haven't confirmed reports the victims were migrant workers, saying only that they were of "European backgrounds."
A Toronto police officer said on the day of the accident that he didn't believe the men were wearing their safety harnesses.
Police and the Ministry of Labour are both investigating.
