Second chance to chime in on Vulcan Materials Azusa mining project

(Azusa, California) -- The second public hearing regarding an environmental report concerning mining in the Azusa Rock Quarry is this week.

The second public hearing on the draft environmental impact report for the Vulcan Materials Company's mining application for the rock quarry near Fish Creek will be at 7 p.m. Wednesday in the Azusa City Council chambers, 213 E. Foothill Blvd.

The public can find and download Vulcan's complete submittal, all technical attachments and draft Environmental Impact Report on the official City of Azusa Web site www.azusalw.com.

Comments can also be submitted in writing to azusarockeircomments@ci.azusa.ca.us, or by mail to: Conal McNamara, City of Azusa, Department of Economic & Community Development, 213 E. Foothill Blvd., Azusa, CA 91702.

A final hearing will be Feb. 10 where the Planning Commission will make a decision regarding the application before it goes to the City Council.
