Holcim helps in Extreme Makeover

Mar, 09 2010

Officials from Holcim (US) Inc. and Holcim Ada plant, together with their customer Dolese Bros.  Co., said they are proud to be two of the many sponsors of Extreme Makeover-Home Edition, which recently built a new home for the Skaggs family in Lexington, Okla.

Ideal Homes of Norman, Ty Pennington, Extreme Makeover’s  team leader, the design team, celebrity guest designer Jillian Harris of ABC’s “The Bachelorette,” and an entire community have built a safe and healthy home for Jhett, now 3, his sister Merit, 5, and their parents, allowing the family to focus on each other instead of their deteriorating surroundings.

The famous bus was moved and the home was revealed to the family Feb 7.

The episode of “Extreme Makeover-Home Edition” will air on Sunday, March 14, at 7 p.m. on ABC.

Brian and Audra Skaggs’ three year old son, Jhett Skaggs underwent heart transplant surgery at just 10 months old.

Brian Skaggs said, “I’d like to say, ‘Hats off to all the volunteers, the community and the Ideal Homes crew for really going above and beyond the call of duty.’”

Ajay Kumar, plant manager of the Holcim (US) Ada Plant, and Carlyle Hill, market manager of Holcim (US) Oklahoma/North Texas area, said they are proud Holcim (US) was able to be a part of building a new home for the Skaggs family.
