ACC cement dispatches rise 9% in December

(Mumbai, India) -- ACC Ltd, India’s second-largest cement maker, reported a 9% rise in despatches for the month of December.
The company despatched 2.09 million tonnes (mt) of cement in December compared with 1.92 mt in the year earlier period, the company said in a statement on Thursday. Production in the month rose to 2.03 mt from 1.91 mt in December 2010.
On a cumulative basis, despatches rose to 23.68 mt in 2011 from 21.17 mt a year earlier, while production in the year increased to 23.66 mt from 21.21 mt in 2010.
