Villagers fight concrete plan
Apr, 17 2012
(UK) -- More than 250 people are fighting plans to build a concrete production facility in their village.
Concrete Panel Systems Ltd – part of Graham Heath Construction – wants to build a 70-metre long shed for casting concrete products at its base on Wrenbury Industrial Estate as well as a storage area for completed panels.
A petition against the development has been signed by 256 people and handed to Cheshire East Council, as well as a number of letters of objection from residents.
Objectors are concerned about traffic, noise and pollution.
They are also worried about the hours the plant would be open and the visual impact it would have on the area.
Wrenbury Parish Council is also objecting to the application.
But council planning officers are recommending the plans are approved at Wednesday's southern planning committee meeting.
