Balfour Beatty communities recognized for commitment to energy efficiency

(Newtown Square, Pa.) -- Balfour Beatty Communities, LLC, a subsidiary of Balfour Beatty Capital Group, Inc. and one of the leading Public-Private Partnership (PPP or P3) providers of housing, lifestyle and community solutions for members of the U.S. military and their families, has been recognized by the Fort Bliss Directorate of Public Works-Environmental Division (DPW-E) with a 2012 Earth Day Award for Environmental and Energy Excellence. Balfour Beatty Communities earned this award in the Business/Community Energy Efficiency category.
The Fort Bliss DPW-E sponsors the Earth Day Awards to honor those individuals and organizations whose significant contributions assisted Fort Bliss in meeting its environmental obligations in the prior year. The Balfour Beatty Communities team at Fort Bliss was recognized for energy efficiency improvements they made to both new and existing homes at the installation in 2011, as well as for their work in implementing the Live Army Green program, a Department of Defense initiative that encourages energy conservation by residents.

The 2012 Annual Environmental Awards were presented today at the Fort Bliss Museum, Fort Bliss, Texas.
