CRH eyes Tarmac's assets in the UK

May, 14 2012

(Ireland)  --  CRH is eyeing up Tarmac assets which may be sold after British regulators ruled that parts of the business must be sold following Tarmac owner Anglo American's $2.5bn (€1.93bn) deal with rival Lafarge.

"Obviously we look at everything that comes on the block in the sector," CRH boss Myles Lee (above) told investors.

"We will have a look at it but I think, as I've said before, we don't have any particular synergies in this particular sector in the UK. I suppose we just have to see what sorts of valuations and pricing is applied to these particular assets."
