Concrete business destroyed by fire
May, 14 2012
(Kentucky) -- A Cave City business caught fire Thursday night in a blaze that took hours to put out and multiple fire crews to battle.
The building that houses Coffey's Concrete Products started burning at about 11:30 p.m. Thursday night, according to dispatch calls for response. At least five volunteer fire departments responded to Ky. 90 and US 31-W.
Drivers saw the business, that also has an apartment attached to it, become engulfed in flame, according to owner Chris Holder. No one was injured in the fire.
12 families were evacuated from the Happy Valley Apartments and taken to the Cave City Community Center until the smoke had cleared, Barren County Emergency Management director Tony Richey said at the scene.
