Woman hit, killed by concrete mixer

(Dallas, Texas) -- A woman was hit and killed by a concrete mixer as she walked across a busy North Dallas intersection Monday morning, according to police.
The accident happened about 9 a.m. on Northwest Highway at Preston Road.
Witnesses say the woman crossed Northwest Highway with a green light when the concrete truck turned from Preston west onto Northwest Highway.
The rear wheels of the truck struck the woman, knocking her down. She died at the scene.
A worker at a nearby locksmith business says he didn't know the woman's name, but he recognized her because she is in the area nearly every day.
The victim's name has not yet been released.
