Boral Stone Products to expand production at Chester plant
Jul, 04 2012
(Charlotte, NC) -- Boral Stone Products plans to add three jobs and invest $6 million in its stone-veneer plant in Chester County.
Boral will add equipment as it expands a production line at the plant at 590 Ecology Lane, near Chester. The work should be finished in June 2013, the company says.
The plant, which opened in 2001 under Owens Corning Inc. ownership, has about 240 employees. In January, Boral bought Owens Corning’s masonry-products business, including the Chester County plant.
“The expansion at Boral gives us confidence that Chester County remains a ripe environment for existing businesses to expand and flourish,” says Carlisle Roddey, county supervisor.
The plant makes stone-veneer products that are used inside and outside homes and in commercial applications.
