Aug, 13 2012
(Wisconsin) -- A young Racine woman reported missing on Tuesday was found dead Saturday in a nearby quarry, the Racine Journal Times is reporting.
According to the newspaper's report from the Caledonia Police Department, Rebecca Ryan, 22, was found by Caledonia police Saturday around 10 a.m. in the Vulcan Materials Company quarry, 1501 3 Mile Rd.
Ryan's mother reported her missing on Tuesday morning. Local police asked the public for help in finding the woman after her backpack was found that day near 4 ½ Mile Road and Charles St. in Caledonia, according to the newspaper.
How Ryan died is unclear, but police do not suspect foul play, according to the report. The Associated Press said an autopsy is scheduled for Monday.
Calls to the Caledonia Police Department have not been returned.
