Firefighters battle blaze at Lafarge plant

(Ravena) -- Firefighters battles a blaze at the Lafarge Ravena Cement Plant in Ravena for about 90 minutes.

According to Coeymans police, the fire began at about 2 p.m., and firefighters were challenged by the height at which the fire was located, as well as getting water to fight it with. A heavy black smoke was attributed to a burning conveyor belt, and police said at no time was there any concern about hazardous materials burning.
