Seeking - General Manager Aggregate Operations

U.S. based Multi-Industry Company seeks a senior operations professional who is a strategic thinker and understands the value  of planning and taking a disciplined approach to execution. The person in this position must have the ability to create strategies that give the company a competitive advantage. This position will have direct responsibility for all aspects of the company’s multi-site aggregate operations and lead by example to ensure alignment with the company values and culture. 

This position will report directly to the BU President and work closely and with all areas of the business.

Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

•Safety: Pursues a culture of safety that is best in class with an objective of “zero” injuries or incidents.   

•Environment: Establishes the environment as a priority at all the sites.  Ensures regulations are met.

•Operations Management: Provides direct oversight in the extraction, processing, storage, and shipping of aggregates at the sites.  

•Inventory Management: Closely manages inventory needs at sites through frequent coordination with Sales, Quality Control and Operations.

•Performance Management: Promotes a culture of performance.  

•Quality: Understands the value of quality and ensures processes are in place to provide a quality product to our customers.  

•Planning: Develops operational and capital plans for the plant to continuously improve productivity and maintain costs as low or lower than our competition.  

•Capital: Works closely with Area Operations Manager and Director of Finance to identify necessary sustaining and development capital in accordance with best practices.   

•HR/Labor Relations: Ensure effective recruitment, merit/recognition, performance management, and separations for all sites.

Requirements: 

• 7-10 years relevant experience

• Undergraduate  degree in mining or engineering

• Knowledge of wet and  dry mining process

Knowledge and Skills:

• Strong leadership and people skills.  

• Ability to develop effective internal/external relations

• Problem solving/analytical skills

• Disciplined/process oriented

• Prepares budgets and forecasts
