We have a project where sodium nitrate is being injected into ground water for remediation. The sodium nitrate solution will contact a buried concrete wall.
The initial concentration will be 1000 mg/liter and, within 45 days, it will reduce to 10 mg/L. Temperatures should be below 70F.
Is there any reference that provides affect on concrete base on concentration and duration for sodium nitrate. Or does anyone have experience with concrete in contact with the chemical.

Larry,
sodium nitrate is a corrosion inhibitor used
in concrete admixtures to prevent corrosion of rebar. See " Performance Evaluation of concrete containing sodium nitrate inhibitor" on Google.
sodium nitrate is or was used by some restaurants as an anti-oxidant for vegetables
(keeps lettuce from turning brown) This is no
longer acceptable.
Since it is acceptable to add to concrete I believe it should not cause any problems with
contact with cured concrete. that is only my opinion however.
