| Description |
Position Summary:
The Risk Analyst shall assist the Vice President of Risk, Risk Manager and the Claims Manager with the implementation of the corporate risk management program.
Key Responsibilities Results/Accountabilities
-
Review and coordinate data collection for policy renewals to include cargo values, vessel listings, vehicles, property values, rail, external sales and volumes

Complete the Non-Owned Aircraft and Fiduciary Insurance renewal applications
-
Maintain location list for claims reporting
-
Reconcile TPA check listings to Bank statements
-
Review reconciliation of TPA Canada Bank Statements, Captive Banks Statements and OCIP Bank Statements
-
Manage Risk Management database
-
Assist the business units with program implementation at a local level
-
Maintain Policy Archive Database
-
Assist in the oversight of the activities of third party claims administrators on small- and mid-range liability claims and workers’ compensation claims
-
Perform Checks on Internal Audit Testing conducted in the department

Manage Letter of Credit Listing
-
Monitor and track product liability claims and coordinate the collection of the necessary deductible from the businesses
-
Ensure compliance with internal control procedures - communicating problems in operations, unwarranted deviations from established standards, and violations of policy or law
-
Demonstrate a commitment to communicating, improving and adhering to safety policies in all work environments and area

Participate in semiannual physical audits of claims handling.

Conduct monthly electronic audits of claims handling.

Provide accurate and timely data for budgeting, allocations and reporting under various requirements.

Provide accurate and timely reconciliations of necessary bank statements
-
Assist in the successful and effective handling of auto liability claims up to $50,000 in total incurred, as well as small to mid range general liability claims and all level workers’ compensation claims.

Internal controls providing reasonable assurance of effective and efficient operations, including actions to prevent and detect fraud and protect Company resources

Relationships with Others’ Jobs:

Works in conjunction with the Vice President of Risk Management, Risk Manager and the Claims Manager to ensure the clean communication and implementation of the Lafarge Risk Management Program.

Collaborates with third party claims and medical case management administrator with combined annual fees of $800,000.
Qualification Profile:
Education and Work Experience:
-
Minimum 1-3 years experience in insurance claims, insurance brokerage, or corporate risk management/insurance experience
-
Undergraduate degree in risk management, safety, sciences, or math
-
AIC (Associate in Claims) Designation Preferred
Knowledge and Skills:
-
Good understanding of risk management principles with an emphasis on claim management techniques
-
Basic understanding of Insurance Policies and Property Insurance
-
Solid communication skills (verbal and written)

Proficient with key Microsoft office applications (Word, Access, Power Point)

Advanced skills in the use of Excel and its various tools for analyzing data
-
