Position Summary:
This position primary role is to tender and schedule carriers for customer orders. Other responsibilities to include various tasks that benefit the Customer Value function.
Key Responsibilities:

Assign carriers to loads
-
Schedule carrier routes
-
Dispatch shipments to ensure on-time delivery, while maintaining costs
-
Optimize Lafarge’s house carrier fleet to properly dispatch all loads
-
Approve miscellaneous freight invoices
-
Third party warehouse activities associated with truck and rail shipments
-
Order entry as needed for product transfers or customer orders

Backup Logistic Analyst as directed:
-
Update FSC table
-
Manage freight payables
-
Prepare export documents
-
Code freight invoices as needed
Results/Accountabilities:

Optimal carrier selection
-
On-time delivery and efficient house carriers utilization

Customer service
-
Utilize CRM to inform / respond to sales regarding transportation issue
Relationships with Other Jobs:
Strong working relationship with Customer Value, Sales, Revenue group, customers, carriers and warehouses.
Qualification Profile:
Education and Work Experience:

College degree in Business, or related experience in transportation preferred

Prior experience working with carriers on products pickup & delivery preferred
Knowledge and Skills:
-
Computer literate with in-depth knowledge of an ERP environment

Effective verbal and written communication skills
-
Knowledge of PeopleSoft a strong plus

Knowledge of excel spreadsheets

Demonstrate a strong sense of teamwork
