Position Summary:
Integral member of the plant leadership team responsible for the production function at the Exshaw Plant. Duties include:

Take leadership on equipment optimization and reliability ensuring compliance with all Quality and Environmental guidelines.

Develop and manage the departmental budgets for refractory, manpower, and fixed costs.

Provide strategic leadership and mentorship to Production Coordinator, Shift Supervisors, Yard Supervisor, Shipping Supervisor, Kiln Coach and Production Engineer

Provide fair and consistent management on employee relation situations and performance management programs.

Manage the departmental training program and ensure development and compliance with S.O.P.'s.

Establish proactive leadership in our Safety program and continue to improve safety results.

Troubleshooting equipment and process challenges
Qualifications:
Education
-
Graduate of a relevant university engineering program, with some formal management training
Experience
-
Extensive experience with production and process functions in a cement plant, with a thorough knowledge of mills and kilns, quarry operations, product quality, quality control parameters and cement plant systems

Demonstrated good leadership skills, in accordance with Leader for Tomorrow principles

Demonstrated a strong commitment to safety

Minimum of 5 years cement experience in a Production/ Process function.

Extensive equipment and process knowledge of mills and kilns, preferably in a precalciner facility.

Proven track record of delivering results, developing employees, and implementing continuous improvement systems.

Thorough knowledge of quality management system such as ISO9000/14000, is preferred.
