Local Sourcing Manager / Specialist

Description

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

• Performs local sourcing activities to increase the level of professionalism and support operations in the following areas: subcontracting, shipping & delivery, and raw material supply
  • Defines sourcing strategy development for assigned product family
  • Engages manufacturing and operational staff to develop and finalize detailed specifications
  • Supports operations in preparation of Request for Proposal (RFP), and manages bidding process under the control of the operations
  • Prepares negotiation strategy and subsequently negotiates agreements under the control of the operations
  • Performs selection analysis and awards the contract to specific vendor(s) under the control of the operations
• Provides safety leadership and supplier screening for local sourcing families
• Conducts vendor /market analysis to identify new opportunities for cost savings
• Executes and monitors all respective internal controls, ensuring efficient/effective activities that support objectives while adhering to applicable laws, regulations, policies & procedures
• Strives to obtain, measures and reports savings for assigned purchasing families
• Supplies timely and accurate information for both the performance cycle and global contract negotations
• Responsible for assigned cost savings objectives

RELATIONSHIP WITH OTHER JOBS

Front line relationships

• Maintains effective interface with 30+ single A&C GMs and Cement Plant Managers to ensure both strong support and alignment of purchasing objectives
• Engages all  operational and performance managers to ensure proper specification of need and alignment with cost reduction objectives
• Engages manufacturing performance directors/managers to ensure proper specification of need for large external spend items and alignment with cost reduction objectives
• Manage relationships with selected local suppliers, subcontractors, and service providers in WCAN

QUALIFICATION PROFILE

Education and Work Experience:

• Engineer or business undergraduate with 5-10 years field experience, or combination of education and experience
