OBJECTIVE:
To aid in the tracking, management and efficient utilization of A&C’s Greater Edmonton land assets. Ensure compliance to all lease and permit conditions. Contribute to the government and community relations aspects of the aggregate business in the Greater Edmonton area for long term success.
STRUCTURE:
Report to Aggregate Development Manager and work closely with the regional land group. Work co-operatively with all Aggregate Operations and Sales Personnel and other Greater Edmonton Divisions.
RESPONSIBILITIES

Provide survey and autocad drawing support as required
-
To participate in the population and on-going maintenance of the Land Information System (LIS) and lands record management
-
To provide support in maintaining and renewing required agreements, approvals and leases
-
Provide support in Business and Property Tax management
-
Assist with the tracking, mapping, and reporting of Lafarge’s reserves
-
To provide support on liabilities reporting for current sites and depleted reserves
-
Assist Operations personnel in planning pit start-up, progressive mining and land reclamation
-
To provide support in compliance with all company and governmental policies and regulations
-
Participate in the development and maintenance of positive community, governmental, and landowner relations
-
To provide assistance with environmental projects and environmental monitoring
-
Assist in submissions for the necessary Reclamation and Development Completion Certificates and the decommissioning and divestment of depleted sites

Assist in locating, assessing and acquiring competitive reserves
-
Assist in the development of necessary approvals submissions for new sites
-
Contribute to a positive atmosphere of teamwork, development of personnel, and positive resolution of conflicts

SPECIFIC ACCOUNTABILITIES

Drafting in CADD

Maintain and enhance land records
-
Prepare submissions to ensure compliance with required leases, permits and approval renewal dates

Work with Operations Personnel to ensure pits are developed and operated in accordance with mining and reclamation plans, Best Management Practices, and positive environmental and community relationships
QUALIFICATION PROFILE
-
Knowledge of CADD, Surveying and GIS.
-
Post secondary education in Civil/Environmental/Mining Engineering, or Engineering Technology, or an appropriate job related field.

Education/experience in current land rehabilitation techniques, community relations, planning legislation, geological assessments and property acquisitions would be an asset.

Strong project management, analytical, communication, problems solving and computer skills

Organized self starter who works well in a team.
