Description

Objective:

Responsible for managing the inbound and outbound traffic and scale duties for trucks entering and leaving the location. Weighmaster is responsible for weighing trucks in and out of the pit issuing a scale ticked for every load, utilizing EOne LIFE computer system to ensure accurate and timely billing to our customers.

 

Responsibilities

  1. Administrative
    • Capture tare in weights of trucks
    • Ticketing and weigh out for all trucks
    • Process daily pick-up orders
    • Collect COD funds, process all COD payments and submit reporting to After Sales support for deposit and reconciliation daily
    • Answer phones and handle walk-in inquiries
    • Completion of Trucker Safety & Performance report
    • Weekly cash reconciliation
    • Monthly reporting as required
  2. Safety
    • Maintain visitors list, PPE
    • Administer site specific safety training
    • Demonstrate a commitment to communicating, improving and adhering to safety policies in all work environments and areas

 

Relationship with Other Jobs:

  • Close interaction with Dispatch and Sales
  • Close interaction with Scale Supervisor
  • Close interaction with external Haulers
  • Close interaction with customer base

 

Qualification Profile:

Education

  • High School Diploma or equivilant

Knowledge & Skills

  • Safety Minded
  • Previous Scale, Dispatching or Order Taking experience is preferred
  • Dependable attendance is mandatory
  • Task Oriented, capable of performing multiple tasks
  • Good oral communication and listening skills
  • Knowledge of computer basics
  • Ability to perform basic math calculations
  • Proficient in 10 Key typing skills
  • Friendly, courteous phone skills
  • Excellent customer service skills
  • Flexible working schedule – Saturdays and Sundays are required on rotation (Irregular Hours)
  • Be a team player and work well with others in high pressure situations
  • Positive/Helpful attitude is required
  • Knowledge of products, industry terms and Provincial regulations of illegal weights is preferred
  • Reliable transportation
  • Knowledge of local market area is preferred
