Objective:
Ensure the long term reliability of all plant assets including equipment (fixed & mobile), buildings, structures and systems within budgeted cost targets. Analyze and forecast maintenance requirements so effective planning and work scheduling can be accomplished in a cost effective, timely and satisfactory manner.
Responsibilities:

Health and Safety: Assist in the implementation and compliance of Lafarge Safety Program to ensure personnel are working in a safe manner in accordance with policies and procedures. Ensures all aspects of his/her role are executed in a safe manner. Obeys safety guidelines when on construction sites and Lafarge operations.

Environment: Establish the environment as a priority in daily activities and act as a steward to the environment. Demonstrate a commitment to meet or exceed environmental compliance.

Operations Strategy: Develop and ensure the use of standardized maintenance practices, identifying improvement opportunities that will lead to higher equipment reliability, improved procedures or reduced cost. Responsible for leading cost reduction projects through systematic equipment failure analysis and reengineering of high maintenance cost equipment and systems. Provides guidance for proper retention of spare parts to ensure uninterrupted operation of the plant and equipment. Maintain a balanced approach towards the resolution of day to day issues and problems while also maintaining a focus on longer term issues and the principles of continuous improvement. Work with vendors to ensure the best value and timely repairs of equipment.

Operations Analysis and Action Tracking: Proactive approach to equipment maintenance programs ensuring the optimum use of materials and resources. Work with Regional EMI Coordinator and E-1 computer system to ensure accurate and timely information flow and the use of information for reporting and maintenance decisions.

Capital Expenditure Requests (CERs): Assists in developing long range capital plans. Ensures proper acquisition requests are prepared for equipment within area of responsibility.

HR/Coaching & Mentoring: Supervises the workforce. Responsible for disciplinary actions on site. Fosters effective employee relations. Establishes a safe and productive work environment where employees are proud to members of Lafarge. Develop employees.

Qualification Profile:
Education and Work Experience:
The incumbent must have 3 – 5 years of previous experience in aggregates or mining.
Experience directly related to management of mechanical maintenance process.
Knowledge and Skills:

Knowledge of maintenance methods and appropriate planning techniques.

Proficiency with Excel, Word and PowerPoint.
-
Ability to learn Lafarge’s E1 system.
-
Problem solving and analytical skills.
-
Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations.

Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals.
