Description

Position Summary:

Lead the organization of the warehouse.  Develop and implement best practices for Warehouse management. Complete plant specific purchasing functions.

Key Responsibilities                                        Results/Accountabilities

 

  • Complete responsibility for the inventory reorder process
  • Champions reorder report review
  • Manage scrap & equipment sales and liquidation
  • Acts as parts coordinator with respect to E1
  • Act as super-user for P2P/E1 system
  • Purchase consumables
  • Handle damaged freight disputes
  • Handle delivery errors with Vendors
  • Deal with invoice corrections and problems
  • Ensure parts identification and labeling.
  • Ensure timely receipt of all parts
  • Ensure compliance with inventory control procedures
  • Inventory consignment
  • Inventory accuracy and cycle count process
  • Develop working capital reduction plan
  • Run and review obsolescence reports
  • Manage Repairable process
  • Vending Machine and Vendor managed inventory coordination
  • Implementation of Parts Agreements
  • Manage Stores Suppliers
  • Enter new vendors and updates
  • Monitor and track vendor insurance requirements
  • Interfaces with Item Master group
  • Provide support in absence of Purchasing Manager.
  • Supervise stores hourly personnel, including training, disciplinary issues, time entry, scheduling, compliance with safety requirements of stores personnel, ensure storage meets all the safety requirements.
  • Working with service providers and scheduling
  • Train and update plant and terminal employees as required on P2P/E1 systems.
  • Month End Reconciliation
  • Run Reorder reports no less than twice weekly
  • Validate reorder data to ensure items are actually needed and the data on report is accurate.
  • Maintenance of stores facilities and stores mobile equipment
  • Responsible for maintaining security of stores inventory to prevent loss from theft.
  • Interfaces with Item Master group

 

 

 

 Relationships with Others’ Jobs:

  • Works closely with Plant Management towards the successful coordination of combined objectives and purchasing best practices implementation
  • Interfaces with Item Master group
  • Direct cooperation with technical specialists in the definition of specifications

 Qualification Profile:

 Education and Work Experience:

  • Post-secondary education preferred
  • Inventory Management experience preferred
  • Plant-level and/or divisional operations or maintenance experience
  • Five to seven years of purchasing experience
  • Heavy building materials background and plant purchasing experience

 Knowledge

  • Knowledge of union contracts when supervising hourly stores personnel
  • Hazardous material transport and storage requirements
