Requirements: 
  • Minimum of 2 years purchasing experience in an industrial or mining environment and/or a minimum of an Associate’s degree in a related field.
  • Experience with automated maintenance software programs and purchase order systems
  • Exceptional PC skills including MS Excel and word.
  • Must have the ability to work independently with limited direction while managing competing deadlines & multiple projects in a fast-paced environment.

Overview:
Large frac sand provider seeks a Buyer to prepare purchase orders or other agreements as necessary and check them for accuracy & completeness before issuing. The right candidate must build relationships with suppliers & conduct routine supplier business reviews, evaluating supplier performance & compliance.

 

Responsibilities: 
  • Purchase the proper quality product for the job at the lowest possible price in correct amounts.
  • Purchase site’s consumable items.
  • Solicit bid requests and review requisitions for goods and services.
  • Research, compare, and evaluate based on price, quality, selection, service, support, availability, and supplier’s reputation and history.
  • Monitor, coordinate, and expedite shipments and receiving to ensure goods come in on time and that unacceptable goods or services are investigated and corrective action is taken.
  • Ensure all company policies and procedures are followed and maintain an effective level of internal control within the purchasing function.
  • Inventory management, including parts and supplies.
  • Work closely with Management, Receiving and Accounting to help resolve discrepancies on purchase orders and invoices.
  • Coordinate purchase order flow and back orders.
  • Analyze price proposals to determine reasonable prices within the current market.
  • Evaluate and monitor contract performance to ensure compliance with contractual obligations and determine any needs for changes.
  • Ensures all terms and conditions are reviewed and approved by company’s legal team
  • Other duties as assigned.
