66-acre Florida sand mine sold

Venice Minerals & Mining, a Henderson, Kentucky-based firm managed by Samuel S Francis, has sold a 66-acre sand and shell minein Florida to MAH Venice Investments for $730,000.

The property, at 500 Gene Green Road in Nokomis, Florida also contains a trio of small industrial buildings measuring 2,592 square feet.

Venice Minerals & Mining paid $2 million for the property in June 2004, records show.

MAH Venice Investments is a Punta Gorda company managed by Michael A Horan.

In September 2012, Venice Minerals and Mining sold land in the same area to Sarasota County for $418,000.
