For Testing and Application of Concrete Pozzolans, papers are invited on the testing methods used to characterise the reactivity and performance of supplementary cementitious materials in concrete. In addition, the invite also extends to papers on laboratory or field studies of the application of unconventional or beneficiated pozzolans.
Abstracts are due by 15 May and are to be sent to Farshad Rajabipour and Lawrence Sutter.
Papers are also invited on the Specification of Durable Concrete Structures Exposed to Chlorides. Submissions should be based on one of the following topics.
Specifications that ensure that concrete mixtures are proportioned to obtain low chloride ion penetrability and low risk of non-structural thermal and shrinkage cracking; requirements for prequalification and jobsite acceptance test criteria and; design and test considerations for cover depth and ensuring adequate curing. Other relevant topics include examples of successful specifications and projects; lessons learned from reinforced concrete structures that have lasted 75+ years with little maintenance and; service life models, validation and correlation with specifications.
The deadline for abstracts is on the 15 May and must be sent to Karthik Obla and Doug Hooton.
