The American Concrete Institute (ACI) has reduced the price of its ACI Physical Testing of Cement Training video to $249 to help make more accessible to a wider audience. ACI members can purchase the video at a discount price of $149.
ACI says the video can also be used alongside study materials as a resource for new testers and a refresher for testers interested in obtaining the ACI Cement Physical Tester certification.
Michael L. Tholen, PhD, PE, IOM, managing director, engineering & professional development, ACI, says: “Training of technicians for physical testing of Portland cement traditionally occurs on the job, with an experienced laboratory technician guiding the new tester through the ASTM procedures. To supplement this training, ACI has developed the ‘ACI Physical Testing of Cement Training Video’ as a resource for new testers and a refresher for experienced testers.”
This video consists of chapters based on specific test methods which include Compressive Strength, Autoclave Expansion, Air Content, Normal Consistency, Vicat Time of Setting, Blaine Fineness, Gillmore Time of Setting and Flow of Mortar.
In addition, the video comes with a brief review of safety equipment and the laboratory environment. The chapters review equipment specific to the ASTM test, the procedure to follow the test and the calculation result. Tips are also included to help improve technicians’ knowledge and technique.
