American Concrete Institute unveils Middle East Regional office in Dubai

The American Concrete Institute (ACI) has opened its regional office in Dubai, United Arab Emirates, in a bid to develop the institute's consensus-based knowledge on concrete and its uses in the region.

Ahmad Mhanna, ACI’s newly appointed Middle East regional director, will manage the Middle East Regional Office.

Mhanna says: "This office will lead efforts to establish and nurture a wide range of strategic relationships between ACI members, chapters, companies, governmental bodies, educational institutions, partners, and other construction industry organisations throughout the region and beyond.

Ronald G. Burg, P.E., executive vice president, ACI, says the new office will help increase awareness of regional concrete design and construction practices.

The opening ceremony was held on the 6 January and included guests such as Hassan Al Hashemi, vice president, international relations, Dubai chamber of commerce and industry, and David A. Lange, ACI president. ACI executive committee members Khaled Awad (ACI past president), Jeffrey W. Coleman (ACI vice president), Randall W. Poston (ACI vice president), and Ronald G. Burg (ACI executive vice president).
