Applications open for NSSGA scholarships

The National Stone, Sand and Gravel Association is accepting applications through May 27 for the 2016 Barry K Wendt Memorial Scholarship.

The Barry K Wendt Memorial Scholarship is presented annually to a student who plans to pursue a career in the aggregates industry.

This $2,500 scholarship was created to honor the memory of the late Barry K Wendt, an association member who tirelessly devoted his energy to advancing the causes of the aggregates industry.

Interested students should visit the website and fill out the scholarship application by May 27.

A complete application consists of the application form, a 300-500 word essay detailing your plans for a career in the aggregates industry, and one or more letters of recommendation.

Eligible students will be enrolled in a mining-related degree program and will have completed at least one year of college coursework.
