Asphalt pavement recycling conference

The 2014 International & Western States In-Place Recycling Conference, scheduled for Denver August 5-7, will feature presentations covering “technical issues, including specifications” for the in-place recycling of asphalt pavement, according to the event’s organizers.

The Federal Highway Administration and the Asphalt Recycling & Reclaiming Association say the August event will include sessions covering several topics, including a look at the latest techniques in hot-in-place asphalt recycling, cold central plant configurations, cold-in-place recycling, and full-depth reclamation.

International speakers will discuss their innovative in-place recycling techniques and the Texas Transportation Institute at Texas A&M University has agreed to sponsor a workshop session called “Revitalizing In-Place Recycling Technologies: Gaps, Barriers and a Path Forward.”

The workshop session will consist of breakout roundtable discussions on what is keeping agencies from fully embracing in-place recycling and developing a plan to overcome these obstacles, say conference organizers.
