The National Sand and Gravel Association is calling for contributions to its Legal Symposium planned for March 2016 in Nashville, Tennessee.
“We seek member input for topics of legal presentations that comprise the Symposium.” the association says.
“The Legal Symposium is an excellent opportunity for counsel, as well as risk managers, to meet and discuss the legal aspects of the most pressing issues facing our industry. Whether the issues are from the regulatory, legislative or business standpoints, the NSSGA Legal Symposium serves as a forum for discussion and continued learning (e.g., continuing education credits conferred by state bar associations).
“The 2015 Symposium was attended by scores of attorneys and non-attorneys, and earned high marks in attendee evaluations by addressing such topics as:
- Tracking effectiveness of social media
- Defending blasting cases
- Jury research
- Analysis of recent decisions in MSHA issues/cases
- Water issues and permitting challenges
“The Council of Counsel, a group composed of attorneys from operator companies as well as law firms, will review ideas upon receipt and begin the process of finalizing the roster of presentations.
Topic ideas for the 2016 Symposium should go to Joseph Casper at email@example.com or (703) 526-1074 by Friday, 10 July.
