February 22, 2019

Carmeuse Lime & Stone has acquired Yager Materials and its subsidiaries as part of its long-term growth strategy.

Yager Materials - a regional aggregate, asphalt and ready-mix producer - will be under the North American Carmeuse headquartered in Pittsburgh.

Yves Willems, president and CEO of Carmeuse, says Yager Materials owns and operates excellent assets in an area which fits in with Carmeuse’s existing network.

Pat Yager, of Yager, says: “Carmeuse is a family business that fits well with our current culture and values. The transaction should be a smooth transition for our employees and customers. The intent is for the Yager family members to remain involved and maintain an interest in the company.”

Yager Materials has been in operation for more than 100 years and runs a stone quarry in Meade County, a sand and gravel dredge business along the Ohio River, three aggregate yards, two asphalt plants, four ready-mix plants, a liquid asphalt terminal, a grade and drain division as well as a marine barge construction and repair division.
