Caterpillar Tuesday reported an 8% year-on-year increase in its worldwide machine sales through dealers for the rolling three-month period ending in May.
Caterpillar's dealer sales in Asia and the Pacific provider the biggest boost up 49% in the region driven by strong gains in sales of resource industries equipment.
North American sales were up 2% for the period.
Total sales in the company's energy and transportation division rose 4% in May following April's 2% decline.
