Cemex opens admixture blending facility in Florida

September 10, 2018

Cemex has opened a 21,000 square-foot admixture blending plant in Brooksville, Florida. Once fully operational, the facility is expected to provide 160 nearby Cemex ready-mixed plants with products for concrete applications.

Ignacio Madridejos, president of Cemex USA, says: “This blending plant produces specialised admixtures developed by Cemex, and therefore, enables us to create concrete mixtures that differentiate us in the marketplace. The centralised location of the facility ensures we can deliver those admixtures to the facilities that need it, providing our ready-mix customers with exceptional value-added products and allowing our plants to be ready for any request.”

Admixtures developed and produced include a full range of products, such as normal and high range water reducers, setting accelerators and retarders, air-entraining agents and speciality products, all blended using an automated system.

The company intends to open additional admixture plans in Texas and California at existing sites in the coming months.
