Charah Solutions opens fly ash storage terminal in Massachusetts

May 7, 2019

Charah Solutions has opened a rail-served distribution terminal with storage in Central Massachusetts to provide fly ash to customers in New England.

Scott Ziegler, vice president of byproduct sales at Charah Solutions, says: “This relocation to a larger terminal in Central Massachusetts will allow us to more than double our regional throughput and increase our inventory, while ensuring a steady and reliable supply of quality fly ash for the ready mix concrete producers throughout the region.”

Charah says the facility provides customers with easy access to nearby I-495 and I-90 and direct routes to Rhode Island and New Hampshire, allowing for the efficient distribution of products to customers throughout the region. Also, the new silos also increase the availability of fly ash from the company's MultiSource materials network locations.

The Multisource materials network represents nearly 40 nationwide sourcing locations across the South, New England, the Midwest, the Rocky Mountains and California. These locations help to ensure a steady supply of Class C and Class F fly ash for ready mix concrete producers and other customers throughout the US, the company adds.
