Athabasca Minerals in Edmonton, Alberta, has appointed Chris Greenwood vice president, operations.
Greenwood will develop the aggregate business in the Wood Buffalo region, expanding the corporation’s market share inWestern Canada.Scott MacDougall, president, Athabasca Minerals said Greenwood’s “strong construction background in both aggregate sales, railing aggregates and large project commissioning will assist Athabasca’s growth”.
Greenwood is the former president and general manager of Standard General, an Alberta based construction contractor. During his 40-year tenure at there he oversaw operations which included aggregate sales, asphalt sales, road construction and asphalt paving, residential/industrial/commercial construction and concrete work.
Greenwood has been involved in several associations including the Urban Development Institute Edmonton Chapter, Alberta Roadbuilders and Heavy Construction Association, Technical Advisory Committee University of Alberta, Alberta Construction Association, Canadian Construction Association and the Canadian Technical Asphalt Association.
