Chryso unveils range of admixtures for using challenging sands

June 24, 2019

Chryso has launched ChrysoQuad, a range of admixture solutions which it says provides an answer to use challenging sands, including low or high fines content and swelling clay.

ChrysoQuad solutions are expected to improve the quality of concrete featuring challenging sands and also promotes sustainable development and reduces costs by sourcing resources from local suppliers, streamlining the procuremet process and lowering the carbon footprint.

Based on 10 years of R&D efforts focusing on developing special polymers, Clear (Clay Enabling Admixture Response) and Graft (Gap GRAdation Fixing Technology) technologies bring even greater structure to the ChrysoQuad range.

  • The Clear technology targets excess of fines and swelling clay problematics, by helping to disperse the binders and reduce viscosity.
  • The Graft technology addresses the issue of low fines content and specific shape factors, while improving concrete cohesiveness and finishing.

Chryso is accompanied by services such as the ChrysoQuad Lab diagnostics tool, which helps characterise sand based on criteria such as fineness modulus, type of sand and absorption.

Additionally, Chryso has launched the new in-situ ChrysoClar Test for swiftly quantifying the swelling clay content.

After field testing and analysing the sand, Chryso provides tailor-made ChrysoQuad admixture solution, which can be tailored to reflect changes in available resources.
