Dump truck driver sustains life-threatening injuries after vehicle flips

Authorities have confirmed that a construction worker received life-threatening injuries after his dump truck overturned in Mesa, Phoenix, according to a report by KTAR News.

Forrest Smith, deputy chief of the Mesa Fire and Medical Department said via email that the 30-year-old man was operating a Komatsu heavy dump truck when it rolled over in a dirt pile near Greenfield Road and the Loop 202 Red Mountain Freeway.

Crews freed the victim from the cage of the vehicle’s driver compartment. He was flown by air ambulance to a trauma centre.

The Mesa Police Department was investigating the incident, Smith added.
