Officials are investigating a fire that burned for almost two hours Sunday morning at a Martin Marietta granite-crushing site in Waite Park, Minnesota.
The fire started just before 3am and was under control by 5am Sunday, according to the Waite Park Fire Department. The business, at 1450 Division Street, was not open. Authorities say no employees were at the plant and nobody was injured in the fire.
Waite Park Fire assistant chief Brian LaBuda said spilled diesel fuel brought a St Cloud, Minnesota hazmat team to the scene. The Waite Park Police Department, Stearns County Sheriff’s Office, and several area fire departments also assisted on the scene.
The Minnesota State Fire Marshal is assisting with the investigation. No cause of the fire had been determined.
