Granite Construction will start building an extension to the four-lane Campus Parkway expressway in August on the east side of the City of Merced – which will connect Highway 99 to the University of California. The $29m contract stems from an agreement with Merced County Department of Public Works.
For the project, Granite will install drainage systems, import approximately 580,000 cubic yards of embankment, 26,000 tonnes of asphalt paving and construct two bridges.
The deal will be included in Granite’s second quarter 2018 backlog and is expected to be complete by February 2020.
