Graymont acquires stakes in New Zealand-based limestone and lime producers

Canada-based Graymont Inc is to enter the New Zealand limestone and lime industry by taking ownership of McDonald’s Lime, which is currently joint-held by majority stakeholder Holcim New Zealand and New Zealand Steel.

Through its purchasing of limestone and lime businesses which operate on both of New Zealand’s islands, Graymont has acquired both the country’s largest supplier, and a nationwide network of quarries, plants and distribution facilities.

Holcim New Zealand will also sell Taylor’s Lime Ltd to Graymont under the deal.
