(Midlothian) — Holcim Inc. recognized its Midlothian cement plant as No. 1 among all its U.S. and international plants.
The designation is for the local plant’s achievements in overall cement plant performance. The plant celebrated its distinction as well as going without a lost time accident in eight years on its annual Safety Day on Thursday, May 23.
Ellis County Judge Carol Bush made a proclamation recognizing Holcim Midlothian for its industry excellence and its value to Ellis County.
Bush read from the proclamation, recognizing that the Midlothian plant employs more than 100 people and has volunteered more than 1,000 hours of employee time for community support.
The celebration included a visit from Holcim CEOs and a lunch for all its employees and a plane flyover pulling a banner that read “Holcim #1.”
