(Colorado) — Just in time for the annual spring cleanup campaign, the Holcim Cement Plant at Portland, Geocycle and Fremont County are sponsoring a tire collection day from 8 a.m. to noon Saturday.
The Holcim Plant at 3500 Colo. 120 east of Florence will accept tires from Fremont County residents at no charge during that time.
Holcim will accept only clean passenger vehicle tires that are off the rim. No tractor tires, monster or semi-truck tires will be accepted.
A limit of 20 tires will be accepted per household and photo identification for proof of residency in Fremont County is required.
Follow the signs to the west entrance of the plant when taking tires.
Tires will be accepted only on the special tire recycling day and only during the specified hours.
The Holcim Cement Plant provides the free tire recycling day to Fremont County residents as a community service. Since 2004 Holcim has used more than 11 million recycled tires to fuel its kiln at the cement plant.
