John Yzenas, Edward C. Levy’s technical services director has received the 2018 Prevost Hubbard Award at the ASTM International Conference in Washington, DC. The award recognises a member or former member of Committee D04 on Road and Paving Materials for outstanding work in the field of bituminous road and paving materials.
Randy Weingart, the National Stone, Sand & Gravel Association’s director of engineering and technical policy, says: “For 26 years, John has been an advocate for the ASTM community and provided reputable leadership and guidance in the development of standards. His work has made a significant impact within the committee and has left an impressive legacy of improved standards for roads and paving.”
Yzenas began his career in the aggregates industry after serving in the US Navy during the Vietnam war. He joined Edward C Levy in 1990 where he implemented a technical marketing division. He worked on the ASTM committee as well as participated in 21 committees and subcommittees and various offices within ASTM and advocated more than 50 work items.
“It is through John’s active participation within the committee and hard work on these standards that we see the true dedication he has given to ASTM and the use of sustainable products. I am glad to see that he is being recognised for his accomplishments,” adds Weingart.
Established in 1972, the ASTM International Prevost Hubbard Award honors Prevost Hubbard, a distinguished member of Committee D04 for 63 years who served as committee secretary for 38 years.
