Komatsu America has partnered with the Chicago Blackhawks for the 2018-2019 season in a bid to promote its local profile and expose the brand to a more mainstream audience.

Komatsu’s logo will appear on the ice for all regular season home games.

Rich Smith, vice president, product and services, Komatsu America says the company intends to move into the Chicago in 2020.

“As part of a broader goal to invest more in local communities where we live and do business, we thought this would be an impactful way to increase our brand awareness, while supporting a storied, hometown sports franchise,” Smith adds.

The project is also expected to allow Komatsu’s sales teams to continue deepening customer relationships during winter months and find distributor cross-collaboration at opportunities at home and away games.

In April, Komatsu announced its plans to move its headquarters to Chicago as part of a strategy to help the company remain competitive and attractive to prospective employees living in the city and studying at nearby Universities.

Rod Schrader, the company’s chairman and chief executive officer, says the new site at Triangle Plaza, 8770 W Bryn Mawr Avenue will benefit everyone.

“Current employees will enjoy the building amenities and convenience to major transportation, the new floorplan supports the company’s efforts to breakdown team and workstream silos," Schrader adds.

The office's open floor plan is expected to enable more collaboration and cross-functional team communication. Onsite amenities will include parking, two nearby health clubs, a hotel and access to major highways, public transportation and O’Hare airport.
