LafargeHolcim forms partnership to provide opportunities to US Veterans

April 6, 2018

LafargeHolcim (LH) has partnered with the US Army’s Partnership for Youth Success (PaYS) program with the intention of providing opportunities to veterans in the American workforce after their service. The recruitment process, according to Denise Devereaux, vice president, organisation and human resources for LH, will assist the company in making its workforce stronger.

“We believe that a recruiting pathway to hire military veterans is a key source of talent for our business due to the skills and values that align with LafargeHolcim, including teamwork, performance, accountability and a focus on health and safety”, Devereaux added.

Additionally, the partnership is part of an enlistment and recruitment option for students to both serve and prepare for their future.

Through the program, LH employees will work alongside Army recruiters and Reserve Officers' Training Corps (ROTC) programs in grassroot initiatives to mentor future soldiers and professionals. PaYS partners aim to assist future soldiers and ROTC cadets with obtaining job interviews and potential employment after their time in the Army. The organisation also works with individuals on resume improvements, interview advice and building stronger qualifications.

Lt. col. Derek R. Keller, US Army, said: "I want to personally thank the LafargeHolcim company for partnering with the U.S. Army and the PaYS program. This partnership will contribute to helping take care of today's heroes, the American Soldier, after they serve this great country of ours."
