LafargeHolcim may be considering the sale of its Indonesian business

The giant Swiss building materials manufacturer LafargeHolcim is reportedly considering selling its subsidiary Holcim Indonesia for USD $2bn (€1.70bn).

Potential buyers could include other regional cement players such as Ultratech or the Siam Cement Group and Siam City Cement operations from Thailand. China’s Anhui Conch and CNBM might also be interested.

However, Albert Manifold, CEO of LafargeHolcim, has been reported as taking a very sceptical view on any imminent deal with an Asian company. The current market outlook is not positive enough.
